Zina Hyde LoungeSonoma, CA. – September 23, 2015 – Fifth-generation Sonoma County winemaker Steve Ledson is thrilled to announce that Chef Yoshiharu Sogi of the Zina Lounge at the Ledson Hotel has won two awards in the 3rd Annual Harvest Fair Restaurant Competition. The winning courses, from internationally renowned Chef Yoshiharu Sogi – a world class wine expert and chef extraordinaire – included:

Salad: The Zina Lounge, House Cured Ahi Tuna & Local Baby Lettuces

Dessert: The Zina Lounge, Sonoma Locally Grown Fresh Stone Fruit Gratin

Chef Yoshi creates intricate pairings – using locally grown farm to table products – designed to excite the palate, while elevating the nuances of each wine. Chef Yoshi was the only multiple dish winner in the Restaurant Competition.

“When we brought Chef Yoshi to Sonoma we knew his fusion dishes would be a hit with wine country, and these prestigious awards confirm that move”, enthused Steve Ledson.

On Saturday, October 3rd from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at The Ledson Castle, Ledson Winery & Vineyards will celebrate the 2015 Harvest with the release of the 2012 Sonoma Valley Reserve Merlot. This is the first Reserve Merlot since 2008 from the Estate Vineyards. This extremely limited production wine will only be available for tasting and purchase during this event. The social hour will include oysters, caviar and other delicacies, followed by an extraordinary five-course menu all prepared by Chef Yoshi. Live music will be provided by Jack Pollard, who has shared the stage with B.B. King, Stevie Wonder and the Temptations. Cost is $150 for wine club members, $175 for Non Club members. The Zina Lounge is now offering a 3-course lunch menu option, as well as a 5-course dinner menu option, in addition to the full 6-course dinner menu that was offered upon opening.  All three menus have different price points and should appeal to a wide array of individuals looking for an incredible wine and food pairing experience. The lounge is home to Zina Hyde Cunningham, Ledson and Mountain Terraces wines.

During a recent visit, acclaimed Sonoma county food writer Carey Sweet opined in 7 X 7 magazine, “Dishes are exquisite, service is precise, and the wine pairings are hyper local from the Zina Hyde Cunningham Winery tasting room on site”.

The menus showcase the very finest ingredients by local purveyors in small plates. The exclusive Zina Lounge Wine & Food Experience is presented with seating’s at 1:00pm and 6:30pm Thursday through Monday. Seated chef pairings and Zina Hyde Cunningham wine tastings are offered by appointment only. In addition to these scheduled seating times, The Lounge offers fully customized menus and private event offerings guaranteed to fulfill every guest’s dreams.

About Chef Yoshiharu Sogi: Chef Yoshiharu Sogi is an accomplished sommelier who trained at Japan’s prestigious Tsuji Culinary School, with advanced studies at École Technique Hôtelière TSUJI, Liergues-en-Beujolais, France. He began his career at the Michelin-starred Restaurant Quatre Saisons in Lyon, and has been chef at Restaurant Hiramatsu, Tokyo, Silverado Resort, Napa and Mauna Kae Beach Hotel, Prince Resort, Hawaii. In addition to his extraordinary talents in the kitchen, Chef Yoshi has served as board member and Wine Advisor to the Japan Sommeliers Association since 2001, and as Wine Specialist for the Society of Wine Educators of America, since 2002.
