Wineries to Gather in San Francisco on October 20th at 12th Annual Top 100 Event
Wine & Spirits Magazine has announced the Top 100 Wineries of 2015, producers from around the world that earned the magazine’s highest ratings across a range of their wines.
The Top 100 Wineries will present wines at the publication’s 12th Annual Top 100 Tasting event in San Francisco. The tasting, a benefit for San Francisco Baykeeper, will take place on Tuesday, October 20th at City View at METREON and will feature more than 200 wines alongside food pairings from San Francisco’s top restaurants and purveyors.
“Our team of six critics selected these wineries based on their performance in our blind tastings,” said Wine & Spirits Editor and Publisher Joshua Greene. “Our panels tasted more than 15,000 wines, and recommended more than 4,500 for our critics to rate and review. The Top 100 Wineries will be pouring our critics’ favorites, filling the room with pretty spectacular wines.”
The event will also include a preview of wines from the Second Annual Sommelier Scavenger Hunt. An international roster of sommeliers has just returned from their travels to five regions in Australia, in a competition to find the most terroir-expressive wines. They will be on hand at the Top 100 event to share their selections with attendees.

Ticket includes early entry to the event, a glass of older vintage bubbles upon arrival and the opportunity to taste 10 additional wines not available during the public event. This ticket also comes with a one-year subscription to Wine & Spirits Magazine and a complimentary tasting glass courtesy of Stolzle.
General admission: $125
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

A favorite annual event among West Coast wine trade and consumers alike, the Top 100 features top-scoring wines selected during a year of blind tastings by the editorial staff of Wine & Spirits, guest sommeliers and retailers. Each year, the line-up has included some of the world’s most highly prized and hard-to-find wines. The event will showcase wines from the 2016 Annual Buying Guide, available on newsstands October 13th, 2015.
