A labor of love and passion, Ca’ Momi’s first stand-alone restaurant will share authentic, traditional Italian cuisine and drinks in a newly renovated building

Ca'MomiOsteria2015Napa, CA, August 12, 2015 — Ca’ Momi Napa Valley today revealed that their new restaurant, Ca’ Momi osteria, will officially open on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, five years from the day that Ca’ Momi served its first pizza in Napa. Nestled in a historic 19th century building in downtown Napa, Ca’ Momi osteria will feature “heartcrafted” authentic, traditional Italian cuisine, beers crafted on site, Ca’ Momi wines, and a cocktail program that highlights both authentic Italian spirits and organic craft spirits from Northern California.

Honoring authentic regional Italian cuisine defines the mission of owners Dario De Conti, Stefano Migotto and Valentina Guolo-Migotto, who first opened Ca’ Momi in 2010 as a wine bar with small bites. Ca’ Momi adheres to traditional recipes, sourcing the best local, organic and authentic ingredients in the process. The popularity of their original Oxbow Public Market location was a sweet surprise and at their customers’ requests, they expanded their menu to include salads and soups, and later pasta dishes. With that, the quick bite/wine bar evolved into a full-service restaurant. As the years passed, the expansion continued, with Ca’ Momi adding in a retail kiosk at their Oxbow location and a full-service team to support it all.

“The Osteria is our chance to showcase our genuine soul and spirit,” shared Valentina Guolo-Migotto. “At 1141 First Street we are blessed to be able to have four walls around our mission. It’s our chance to honor our traditional authentic Italian roots and express our true authentic selves.”

In 2014, Valentina was ready to explore other ventures (including scouting for yoga space) when she came across 1141 First Street. At first sight, she knew she wanted the building to be Ca’ Momi’s first-ever stand-alone restaurant. A historic building, that for all extensive purposes was a shell, became a newfound source of inspiration for her and the Ca’ Momi team. Prior to seeing the location, Valentina had never imagined developing a new Ca’ Momi restaurant experience; it was fated happenstance that created Ca’ Momi osteria.

“So much of what we do is about heart,” added Guolo-Migotto “You can find it in the ingredients we select, the farms we support and our overall atmosphere. Ca’ Momi osteria is the space where we can showcase them all.”

The newly renovated space will feature environmentally friendly details including rustic reclaimed wood tables, and distressed repurposed steel. Local Bay Area artists, including Jayashri Triolo and Kristina Young, have contributed their talents to the “heart” of the restaurant: an Acunto Napoli wood-burning oven imported from Italy that will feature custom mosaic detailing incorporating abstracted elements of fire and water. The exhibition-style pizza kitchen is where guests can eat and view the Ca’ Momi pizzaioli crafting certified Verace Pizza Napoletana (VPN) and Associazione Pizzaiuoli Napoletani (APN) pizza, both regulatory agencies for authenticity in the preparation of pizza Napoletana. Additional artwork by Jayashri Triolo will be exhibited throughout the restaurant dining space.

A larger, fully appointed kitchen in the new Osteria will allow Valentina Guolo-Migotto and her culinary team the opportunity to explore even more obsessively authentic, regional Italian recipes, and expand upon Ca’ Momi’s menu offerings. Alongside her co-owners, Valentina strives to provide only the best locally sourced, organic ingredients available – including those from Ca’ Momi’s own farm – or from trusted, authentic D.O.P. producers in Italy.

“Sourcing the best products not only makes for more delicious food, it also nourishes the body and our environment,” said Guolo-Migotto.

The Osteria will be open seven days a week, from 11:00 am – 10:00 pm., with late-night hours Thursday through Saturday. Reservations: opentable.com.
