After building upon past successes to sell out each of its events, the Culinary Series, which welcomed 4,000 participants in 2014, will once again excite gourmands and oenophiles alike with incredible epicurean events in paradise.
Established in 2013, The Jackson Family Wines Culinary Series, by Karisma is a partnership between Jackson Family Wines and El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels, by Karisma, premier adults-only properties in the Riviera Maya, Mexico delivering an unforgettable Gourmet Inclusive® Experience. The program, which takes place the first week of each month, spotlights notable chefs, restaurateurs, winemakers and sommeliers. Attendees are provided hands-on epicurean experiences, vertical tastings, education classes with sommeliers and winemakers, cooking courses, special pairings, elaborate meals and an exclusive Guest Chef and Winemaster’s Dinner.

The Jackson Family Wines Culinary Series, by Karisma features notable chefs and winemakers from around the globe each month, each of whom work with the esteemed Karisma Hotels & Resorts team of Michelin star restaurant-trained chefs and sommeliers.
After welcoming Chef Casey Thompson, fan favorite from Season 3 of Bravo’s Top Chef, in January 2015, confirmed themes and participants for the remainder of the year include:
- August 3-7: Xavier Pacheco, Chef & Owner of La Jaquita Baya in San Juan
- September 7-11: Special Guest Chef
- October 5-9: Domenica Catelli, Celebrity Chef and Chef & Owner of Catelli Restaurant
- November 2-6: Dan Trudeau, Chef at Jackson Family Wines
- December 7-11: Cristian Rebolledo, Executive Chef of Blue Haven and Beach House Turks and Caicos,
Each weeklong Culinary Series is hosted at the award-winning El Dorado Royale and Casitas Royale, A Spa Resort, by Karisma. Featuring seven Gourmet Inclusive restaurants, including Fuentes – a culinary theater – where dishes are prepared in one of three open kitchens, the resort also boasts 15 bars and lounges serving premium alcoholic beverages, including bar specializing in martinis, bars with swings, beach bars, and nine swim-up bars. El Dorado Royale is home to the region’s largest greenhouse, which measures 75,000 square feet and provides produce to all Karisma Hotels & Resorts’ Mexican properties as well as several high-profile neighboring resorts. It is the only greenhouse in Riviera Maya to be certified by the Rainforest Alliance and Sustainable Agriculture Network, with a 93 percent overall score.
