Wineries are invited to enter Alameda County Wine Competition, Sauvignon Summit & Zin Challenge

Vines and wineglassThis unique wine competition, sponsored by the Alameda County Fair, is in three parts: Alameda County Wine Competition, open only to wineries in Alameda County; Sauvignon Summit, open to all California wineries producing Sauvignon Blanc and Fume Blanc; Zin Challenge, open to all California wineries producing red Zinfandel. The wine competitions, directed by Gerald D. Boyd, will be held at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, in Pleasanton, May 20-21, 2015. The wines will be evaluated by professional wine judges chosen from winemakers, wine journalists and educators and members of the wine trade.

There is no entry fee for any of the three competitions. The deadline for receiving eligible wines is May 1, 2015. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded, along with Best of Class in each category.
