The Rose Competition Open to All North American Wineries


Judging at SIMI Winery – March 25, 2015

Rose CompetitionSonoma, CA (March 9, 2015, 2015) – All wineries in North America producing Rose wines are invited to enter The Rose Competition.

This professional competition celebrating the growing Rose category is open to all North American wineries producing still (non-sparkling) Rose wines.  The word “Rose” must be stated on the front or back label of the wine bottle for a wine to be eligible for entry. This blind wine competition will be held at SIMI Winery in Healdsburg, California on March 25, 2015. The competition is being directed by Bob Ecker, Napa Valley based wine journalist and wine judge. Wines in the competition will be evaluated by panels of distinguished wine judges.

Two categories of Rose wines will be considered: “Dry” and “A Little Sweet.” A $50 entry fee (plus $2.74 online transaction fee) per wine is required. The deadline for receiving eligible wines is March 20, 2015. Double Gold, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded along with a Best in Class in each category.

After the first page hit Register to continue. Participants will be asked a short series of questions about their entered wine. 

A subsequent celebratory event, showcasing the Gold Medal winning Rose wines will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at SIMI Winery. Details for this public tasting event will be announced soon.

Wines must be shipped to arrive at SIMI Winery no later than Friday, March 20, 2015. Wines, entry forms and online payment must be received by the deadline in order for wines to be considered eligible.
