Releases OX Red Blend
SEATTLE — February 18, 2015 — Va Piano Vineyards of Walla Walla, Wash. announced today the winery’s Columbia Valley Sauvignon Blanc secured the Gold Medal in the 2015 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
“Our new Sauvignon Blanc is showing extremely well right now, and we are honored and humbled that it was so well-received at the San Francisco Wine Competition,” said Justin Wylie, Va Piano’s winemaker.
Va Piano has been producing world class Cabernet and Syrah for the past 13 years and, with this positive reception of its new Sauvignon Blanc, is eager to further extend the winery’s brand.
In addition to the Sauvignon Blanc, Va Piano has also received strong accolades for the recent release of its new OX Red Blend. A bold blend of Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah, this high-end affordable red displays layers of cinnamon spice, cacao nibs with hints of toasted oak. Ripe raspberries, Italian plums and toffee will make the palate sing, giving way to a lasting finish that coats your mouth with touches of red velvet cake and bourbon cured cherries. Telltale signs of Wylie’s well-balanced and bold style are evident throughout OX.
“Our dream with OX was to deliver a life-style red blend that stands above our competition, without the killer price tag,” said Wylie. “We are over the moon with the quality in the bottle and think that we have really hit the mark.”
Va Piano Vineyards is managed by owner/winemaker Justin Wylie. Justin is a fourth generation native of the Walla Walla Valley and manages the 7,500 square foot Tuscan style Va Piano Vineyard facility in Walla Walla.
