Iconic Provence rosé, red, and white wines to debut at important wine tasting and pairing events in New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles, March 2-5, 2015

Vins de ProvenceNew York, NY – Wines of Provence and producers from throughout the region will host seminars and tasting events for a select number of sommeliers, retailers, distributors, educators, and journalists during the seventh annual “Provence in the City” seminar and wine pairing events, taking place this year in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The world’s most iconic rosé wines are produced in Provence, with a complexity and diversity in taste and color that reflect the region’s different areas and terroir. Celebrated as an expression of its engaging community and culture, Provence rosé embodies the very soul of the Mediterranean, produced from regional red grapes that are fresh and food friendly.  Recognized as “the original dry pink,” Provence rosé is cool, crisp and elegant.

In each of the three U.S. cities to be visited, representatives from over 25 wineries will meet with trade and media guests to showcase not only a vast array of dry rosé produced in the region’s legendary style, but also an elegant collection of Provence’s red and white wines. In addition to the tasting events with winemakers, corresponding wine seminars will highlight Provence’s diversity of terroir as it is reflected in the wines.

“As we launch the seventh annual “Provence in the City” tour to these major American markets, we are delighted to report that the iconic style of Provence rosé continues to set the standard for quality rosé wines worldwide,” said Francois Millo, director of the Provence Wine Council.  “We are pleased to report that once again the exports of rosé wines from Provence to the United States have grown at double-digit rates for the 11th year in a row, and we look forward to introducing the industry to an excellent 2014 vintage,” he added.
