Three Winemaking Families Embark on Second Wine Project Together
Lodi, California – February 11, 2015 – LCF Wines, a collaboration among three wine industry families – LangeTwins, Coors and Ficeli – announced today the release of a new wine brand Año Verde. Crafted by Bill Nancarrow, the brand takes its name from a Spanish saying that describes a moment in time when magical things happen. Año Verde is launching with a Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County that will be available at retail markets and restaurants in California Colorado, Illinois, Michigan and Texas, the suggested retail price is $18 – $20.
“We know that California’s Central Coast – Santa Barbara County in particular – is an ideal place for Pinot Noir to thrive.” said Marissa Lange, President of LCF Wines. “It’s the cool coastal temperatures and sun-drenched days that allow Pinot Noir to flourish. That’s why, without question, it’s the place we chose to source fruit for the inaugural vintage.”
In Spanish the term Año Verde is used to describe a moment in time when magical things happen and all is well. In other cultures, the saying “green year” signifies a time when all of one’s good works come together and it’s considered “their year.” The philosophy behind Año Verde is to allow the stars to align and trust that if we are one with nature, we all benefit.
