CONCORD, CA (January 26, 2015) Joseph W. Saltzman has been appointed a sales representative for glass wine bottles and other rigid packaging for Saxco International, LLC, West Coast operations, it was announced here today by David Schwandt, vice president of wine sales for the company.
He will be directly responsible for the growth and maintenance of glass wine bottle sales and affiliated packaging materials for wineries in the Napa, Sonoma and other wine producing regions in California. In addition, he will be responsible for new business development in the region.
Saxco International is the leading distributor of glass bottles, containers and packaging components principally to the wine and beer industries in the Western United States. The company is the largest distributor of wine bottles on the West Coast and its major supplier Owens-Illinois, Inc., is the largest producer of glass containers in North America. The company additionally offers bottles, containers and components from their private label, Saxco Select, Ardagh and Vitro, as well as numerous international manufacturers.
Prior to being appointed at Saxco International, he was employed by several California based companies in various executive capacities. He was an account manager for Cork Supply USA, founder and majority owner of Barrel Block, LLC, an alternative packaging coordinator for Kendall-Jackson and an investment broker for Grubb & Ellis.
He holds a masters of business administration degree from the University of California, Davis and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He also attended the Ballerup Business Leadership Program in Copenhagen, Denmark.
