HALL Wines, a premier portfolio of luxury wineries and tasting rooms located in Napa Valley, has helped raise $8500 for Napa Humane, non-profit organization committed to promote the welfare of companion animals through protection, advocacy and education. The third annual “Harvest Hounds” partnership took place at HALL Wines in St. Helena during October and included interactive on-site activities, and an engaging series of social media contests to help drive awareness for the local organization.

“There is such a strong, dog friendly community here in the Valley”, says vintner and HALL Wines owner, Kathryn Hall. “We look forward to kicking off Harvest Hounds each October and once again thank Napa Humane for their amazing leadership in creating avenues for local pets needing attention – we are thrilled to be able to contribute to this organization dedicated to the well-being of our local pets.”

Guests visiting on Saturdays during the effort were able to interactively participate by pairing their pet in a “HALL-themed” photo and share via social media through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtags and handles #harvesthounds @hallwines @napahumane. Winners of the contests received a HALL swag bag including a copy of Winery Dogs pawtographed by CoCo and Rocky, Craig and Kathryn Hall’s dogs as well as a gift bag from Napa Humane valued at $150.00.

“The $8500 dollars raised through Harvest Hounds is going to our disaster preparedness and first aid training for pets,” says Executive Director of Napa Humane, Jane Albert. “The recent Napa earthquake is a sobering reminder of the importance of planning for every member of the family – four-legged ones included. Being prepared saves lives, reduces stress, and provides precious time during a disaster, as well as allowing for a speedy recovery after disaster strikes. This HALL contribution is triple the amount of year’s past and will go a long way in creating a safer place for both animals and the people who care for them.”

Guests participating in the Harvest Hounds experience received a complimentary splash of 2011 HALL Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, recently rated 92 points and a Top Value by Wine Spectator, and a designer pet cookie by local vendor Ma Snax Dog Treats.

Earlier this year, HALL Wines hosted the 5th Annual Cab Cookoff helping raise another $8,000 for Napa Humane, bringing the total amount raised in 2014 to $16,500.

HALL Wines owns over 410 planted acres in Napa County, Sonoma County and Mendocino County that include five California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) Estate vineyards in Napa and Sonoma Counties.

  1. Just another vintner raising money for an animal cause. All of the “winery dogs” have warm homes and too much food and even clothing. There are plenty of homeless and hungry that could use those monies. The Napa elite are very tiring.
