The day-long celebration includes coast to coast Zinfandel events at wineries, wine bars and restaurants including special tastings and menu pairings at acclaimed restaurants, Park Hyatt Aviara’s Vivace in San Diego, Coyote Cafe in Santa Fe, NM and Charlie Palmer’s Steak in Washington, D.C. Wineries offering special tastings and events in honor of National Zinfandel Day include MoniClaire Vineyards, Rombauer Vineyards, Sbragia Family Vineyards and Terra D’Oro Winery.
Mingling with celebrity chefs and vintners or dining at four star restaurants are not the only options. 2014 National Zinfandel Day is the 4th annual celebration of America’s grape and honors the extraordinary diversity of wines and styles from renowned Zinfandel winemakers and emerging wineries. Held the third Wednesday in November each year, National Zinfandel Day recognizes the pioneers of America’s heritage grape and showcases this distinctive, food-friendly varietal.
