FAIRFIELD, CA (April 1, 2014)…William N. Knopka, Jr. has been appointed as sales manager in the wine category for Saxco International, LLC, it was announced here today by David Schwandt, vice president of the wine category for Saxco International.
Knopka, who has more than 20 years experience in management, marketing and sales in the materials and packaging industries will be directly responsible for the overall sales function, including supervision of the sales representatives handling small and midsize wineries in the Napa and Sonoma regions. Saxco International and Demptos Glass are principal suppliers of glass bottles and other forms of packaging for the wine industry. Founded in 1982, the company does business with hundreds of wineries located on the West Coast.
Prior to being appointed at Saxco International he was employed as vice president of sales and marketing for Tapp Label Technologies, Inc. in Napa, CA. He also served as general manager for the company. Before that he worked as wine label business team leader for FP Label, also in Napa, CA.
He additionally was employed as western regional sales manager and market manager (Graphics Division) for Avery Dennison Corporation in Painesville, OH. He also was market manager and account executive for the corporation’s Merchant Products Division.
Knopka is a graduate of University of Delaware, Newark, DE, where he received a bachelor’s of science degree in human resources , with a consumer economics and business management emphasis. He also completed the executive wine program at the University of California, Davis, CA. Knopka is a resident of Napa, CA.
