DTC Wine SymposiumImprove Your Wine Club Retention, Visitor Experience and Your Career!

Napa, CA, October 3, 2013 – The Direct to Consumer Wine Symposium, the industry’s national summit on direct marketing and sales, will feature an afternoon of Workshop Sessions geared to provide usable tips and tactics you can implement immediately.

“After hearing these Workshop Sessions, you’re going to have at least 3-4 takeaways you can implement the next day,” said Karen Barnes, 2014 chair and founder of Wine Direct Marketing Services. “Our Steering Committee sessions chairs, Christopher Huber and Bruce Curtis, have done an outstanding job focusing content and soliciting talented speakers,” she added.

Wine Club Makeover: How to Refresh Your Wine Club
Interested in finding new opportunities for your wine club? If so, this session is for you. We will consider the competitive landscape, financial needs, staffing, best practices, etc., and present a roadmap for assessing and planning improvements. Moderator: Taylor Eason (J Wine). Speakers: Christian Oggenfuss (Plumpjack Group), Stephanie Friedman (Gary Farrell Winery), and Laila Subaie (Miner Family Winery).

The Tasting Room Experience: Mapping Your Guest Journey
Creating a customer experience that takes visitors on a journey – one that educates, inspires and entices – requires an orchestration of clear objectives, infrastructure, timing, messaging, flow, and of course, a top-performing cast. This session will address each strategic touchpoint. Moderator: Jocelyn Hoar (Hall Winery). Speakers: Dev Sidhu (Cakebread Cellars), Sean Brosnihan (Jordan Vineyard & Winery), and Gary Finnan (The GFC Group).

Leadership: Taking Charge of Your Development
In his well-known book, Leaders, Warren Bennis declares, “The most dangerous leadership myth is that leaders are born—that there is a genetic factor to leadership. That’s nonsense; in fact, the opposite is true. Leaders are made rather than born.” In this workshop, we’ll be discussing how to ensure your DTC career is on the right path. Moderator: Dawn Wofford (Benchmark HR). Speakers: Ray Johnson (Sonoma State University), Matthew Wood (Chandon), and Norman Mitroff (Recruiter)

Social Media: Creating Your Editorial Calendar
In this session we will explore creating an editorial calendar to coordinate and drive your social media content and metrics. A well-planned editorial calendar will make your day-to-day life easier and keep your efforts on track. Moderator: Lia Huber (Nourish Network, Lia Huber Consulting). Speakers: Zach DeVincent and Michael Manny (Agent Silverfox).
