NCWIE Production SessionOffering insights to those working in winery production, the North Coast Wine Industry Expo has announced the topic for its final educational session – Trending Technology in the Cellar. This session will take a look at some of the technological advances in the production process and the solutions they offer to winemaking teams of all sizes.

Session Moderator, Clark Smith, or as he likes to call himself, the “winemaking sidekick,” has been in the wine business for more than 40 years and today owns and operate his own consulting business, WineSmith Consulting. While he covers all areas of the production process he has recently been recognized as an industry pioneer in technology integration.

As Smith explores today’s cellar technologies from a consultant’s perspective, attendees will also hear from three individual wineries. Cline Cellars Director of Winemaking Charlie Tsegeletos, Rack and Riddle Winery Executive Winemaker Penny Gadd-Coster and Six Sigma Ranch Winemaker Matt Hughes will all weigh in with their personal experiences and anecdotes as to how they’ve utilized technology in the winemaking process. Representing three diverse wineries that cover a range of production sizes and winemaking techniques, this group is sure to offer all attendees relatable and relevant information.
