Amsterdam, 08/01/2013.- On the coming 25th of November, at the launching of the 5th edition of the World Bulk Wine Exhibition, the Argentinean Viticulture Corporation (COVIAR) and the Fondo Vitivinicola Mendoza –in charge of the Argentinean Wine campaign– will be awarded the prize Voice of Wine 2013 in recognition for their respect, care and support to the wine sector.

Otilia Romero Condés, the Director of the WBWE, explained the decision of giving this prize to COVIAR by pointing out “their efforts to promote wine on national markets and their firm support to the initiative of the presidency of the nation to designate wine as the National Beverage of Argentina”.

According to the presidential decree that declared wine as the national beverage on the 24th of November 2010, “Argentinean wine is an honorable ambassador in the world because it brings pride to Argentines who drink the same wines they export and it gives prestige to the country in every continent”.

Lorenzo Capece, president of the Argentinean Viticulture Corporation, will be in Amsterdam on the coming 25th and 26th of November to receive the prize during the celebration of the 5th edition of the World Bulk Wine Exhibition.

COVIAR is formed by the majority of the Argentinean viticulture sector through cooperatives, wineries, regional governments and the central administration. Their actions have led to an increase in one liter of the annual consumption per person and year in the country.

VOICE OF WINE
Voice of Wine is a prize created by the World Bulk Wine Exhibition in 2011 which recognizes and rewards notable groups or people who defend the values of wine and the sector’s economic, cultural and social features.

2012 AWARD
At the 2012 edition of the World Bulk Wine Exhibition the winner was the European Wine Committee (CEEV) based in Brussels. With this award, the WBWE recognizes the colossal amount of work carried out by the representative body of the European industry and trade in wines at international forums and its efforts to transmit the positive benefits of responsible moderate consumption.
2011 AWARD
The winner of the World Bulk Wine Exhibition 2011 edition was the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), which gathers the Governments of the wine producing and consumer countries. The OIV has always –and especially over the last few years– been a prominent defender of the sector. However, since Federico Castellucci, who already held leading positions in the Italian wine trade association, was elected General Director, the OIV has had a more corporate objective.

WORLD BULK WINE EXHIBITION
The World Bulk Wine Exhibition offers an exclusive place to show and discover the best bulk wines worldwide, just after the end of the grape harvest.

During the past edition, the World Bulk Wine Exhibition brought together 130 producer companies from 11 different countries and, during only two days, they had the possibility of presenting their products to more than a thousand buyers and 4000 visitors who came from more than 40 different countries. In short: an acquisition capacity of nearly 20 million hectoliters.

The 5th edition of the World Bulk Wine Exhibition will be held on the coming 25th and 26th of November at the Amsterdam RAI.
