After a virtual conference in 2021, the three-day North Carolina Winegrower’s Association conference will hold in-person sessions on viticulture, enology, marketing, and business. Speakers include Dr. Mark Hoffman, NC State University, who will talk about methods to deal with cold and frost; Dr. Gil Giese, University of New Mexico will speak about vineyard floor management; Sarah Bowman, Surry Community College, will present an introduction to row and vine spacing; and Dr. Joy Ting, Virginia Winemakers Research Exchange, will discuss the results of practical experiments that explored the limits of chaptalization. Some of the sessions will be presented virtually, including two with Michael Jones, Scott Labs, who will talk about “Microbial Control Advances in BIO-Protection” and “Organic vs. Inorganic Nutrients.”
