Seattle brands team up to deliver apple excellence for Washington Cider Week and beyond

SEATTLE – August 23, 2016 – Seattle Cider Company and Skillet will join forces to deliver a variety of cider goodness kicking off for Washington Cider Week, September 8-18, and lasting through the month. From cider cocktails and tap takeovers to cider soaked menus from the grill, these cider and culinary masterminds will deliver all things apple in a variety of events and offerings.

“We’ve had so much fun working with Seattle Cider Company to develop these delicious pairings and menus,” said Skillet President Jon Severson. “The team can’t wait to share the tasty results of this collaboration.”

Creative cider cocktails, tap takeovers and a four-week series of cider-infused meals from the grill will be offered throughout the month of September. Dates and details follow:

  • Beginning September 8, Cider Cocktails will be found at three Skillet locations, including The Regrade, Capitol Hill and Ballard: Big Bertha features Seattle Cider Berry, rum, Campari, maraschino liqueur, lime, simple syrup, $9; Cobbler marries Seattle Cider Berry with brown sugar brandy and a brown sugar rim, $9; Giada combines Seattle Cider Dry, vodka, grapefruit, vanilla simple syrup and cardamom bitters, $9; Apple Pie mixes Seattle Cider Dry, house-infused cinnamon rye whiskey, Sailor Jerry spiced rum, Lazzaroni amaretto and simple syrup, $10.
  • Two Tap Takeovers. Cider lovers will find two Seattle Cider varieties on draft, including Seattle Cider Dry and Berry at all four Skillet locations beginning September 8, including The Armory, Regrade, Ballard and Capitol Hill.
  • Skillet’s Backyard Barbeque featuring Seattle Cider Company. Taking place four consecutive Fridays and kicking off September 16 at Skillet Ballard, Chef Nick Novello will take to the grill with two rotating cider infused menus. The first three course meal features a grilled pineapple salad with Seattle Cider Co. Citrus Hard Cider vinaigrette, a 28-day dry aged bone-in NY strip and grilled peaches with whipped black pepper mascarpone, Seattle Cider Co. Semi Sweet Hard Cider reduction and candied basil. The pre-fixe menu is $37 per person with optional cider pairings featuring Seattle Cider’s Dry, Berry and Washington Heirloom for an additional $14. More cider menus from the grill will be offered September 23 in Ballard and September 30 and October 7 in Capitol Hill.
